About us

The Cirencester & District Talking News provides a CD recording of local news and a magazine for the visually impaired who live in Cirencester, Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade, Cricklade and surrounding villages.

The charity’s purpose is to help those who are sight impaired, and those who can no longer access the written word due to a disability. This helps people stay in touch with what is happening locally and hear about issues that interest them, enabling listeners to live their lives more independently.

Our service is completely free of charge.

Head to the Listeners page HERE to find out more.

Recordings

The recordings are sent out every week (other than between Christmas and New Year). One week Listeners will receive the news recording, the second week a magazine recording.

Recordings can be sent out on a CD or listeners can also enjoy recordings through this website via the TNF Web Player and via Alexa Smart Speaker. Recordings are also transmitted on the Cirencester Community Radio and on the Cirencester Hospital Radio on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon to patients staying in the Cirencester Hospital.

The Cirencester & District Talking News use articles from Wilts & Glos Standard, the Cotswold Journal, Punchline Gloucester, BBC News and various local community publications and websites promoting events in the area.
